The model of the relationship between the fetal membrane and the uterus can be divided into three parts. The longitudinal section shows the fetal umbilical cord, umbilical artery, amnion, amniotic cavity, chorion, smooth chorion, dense chorion, basal decidua, pericardial membrane, and parietal decidua. The basal decidua shows the two independent circulatory systems of the fetal and maternal decidua. The fetus, basal decidua and parietal decidua can all be disassembled to show their internal structures.
